Where it all began

I am a big fan of tea, but especially matcha. I’ve tasted so many, in search of finding the perfect matcha. Mine. MY favorite Japanese matcha. The one that would take me on a journey, the one with that vibrant green color, that silky texture, and those umami notes that awaken the soul.

But disappointment kept returning: matchas that were too sweet, too diluted, leaving a bitter taste. A limited offering. Matcha powders that were grayish, yellowish, browned, gritty…

a quality far from that of Japan.

The challenge:

to find the purest matcha, one that respects the art, culture, and traditional know-how…

in the midst of a global shortage.

I wanted to import directly from Japanese producers. At first, just for my friends and me. Out of passion. Out of curiosity. Out of love for well-crafted matcha. We tested dozens of varieties: vibrant green, dense micro-foam, natural sweetness, rich and nutty flavor. We found our match.

A matcha that tells a story, the story of the land, volcanoes, time, and a precious heritage.

A goal slowly took shape: to create a community, a private club around matcha. To share matcha with all those who seek authenticity of taste, well-being, and moments meant to be truly savored.

This is how Matchalogy was born

Matcha : an exceptional green tea, stone-ground to a fine powder, inspiring our wellness rituals.

-logy : from the Greek logia, meaning “the study of,” in-depth knowledge.

The study of matcha, in all its purity.

Understanding its origin, its craftsmanship, its taste, its history. Discovering it, savoring it, respecting it. And ultimately, passing it on to fellow aficionados like us.

This name is a tribute to what drives me: curiosity, the search for what’s real, and the desire to share Japanese tradition in its purest form.

Two best friends, hundreds of matchas, and one great adventure.
